When I started this blog I promised myself I wouldn’t “obsess” over the stats. Turns out I can’t help it. It doesn’t help that I haven’t got much else to keep myself distracted, but in a positive light, it does help track your progress, and create some personal blog goals. So here’s my April blog overview.
If you’re wondering, I use google analytics to track my views and I’ve decided to break it down into weeks, just so it’s easier to track a progress.
If these posts interest you I’ll keep them going monthly and give a breakdown.
I personally start my weeks on a Sunday, because that’s how we do it in work, so it’s easier for me to follow that routine rather than change it and confuse myself.
I started my blog on 3/4/2020. So let’s start there. (writing this on 26/4/20) (edited on 30/4/20)
Week 1 (3/4 – 4/4) – 0 views (not negative about this, I’d literally just launched and posted my first post)
Week 2 (5/4 – 11/4) 26 views
Week 3 (12/4 – 18/4) 34 views
Week 4 (19/4 – 25/4) 19 views

Week 5 (25/4 – 30/4) 54 views
I’m quite happy with my first month, I’m still building my blog and social media so I wasn’t expecting much, so to get a total of 131 views in my first month feels like an small achievement.
Just in case you’re wondering, I don’t make any money from my platform, but if that changes I can do an earnings report – I personally like reading these.
In terms of growth, obviously I’d like to reach a bigger audience, we all do, whether we admit it or not, but I’m not expecting anything, if I can build up an audience that I can connect with on my other social media, then I’ll be happy.
So I’m not reaching for a specific number, mainly because it causes unnecessary stress, but to gradually grow and connect with people is my main goal.
